Women and Philanthropy

Description: Home Suite Hope hosted a special high tea luncheon on February 4th at the Harbour Banquet Centre. Sponsored by TD Bank and TD Wealth, the luncheon was in recognition of women in philanthropy. Led by a panel comprised of a unique group of women philanthropic leaders in our community, it was an afternoon of insightful discussion and reflections. The challenges facing charity and non-profit organizations, the need for women to assume more leadership roles at the Board level, encouraging children to get involved in giving at an early age, and the need for charities to connect and build relationships with women rather than just solicit financial donations were only some of the topics raised during the discussions. There is no question that women are, and will continue to be, great influencers on gift giving in the future.
