Description: The Jean and Howard Caine Apartment Building was first established by March of Dimes Canada Non-Profit Housing Corporation (NPHC) in 1992, which develops and promotes affordable supportive housing for people with physical disabilities. It is the largest not-for-profit site in Canada. The building was named to honor devoted disability advocates Jean and Howard Caine, who along with their daughter Pamela, dedicated their lives to promoting the need for accessible and affordable living spaces that adults with disabilities could call their own. The apartments operate with the help of generous donors including Edward and Joyce Gittings, Mattamy Homes and the March of Dimes Canada NPHC.
