Description: There was a good old fashioned block party in lower Oakville as the community all came out for a day long get together at the corner of Rebecca and Morden. At the event there was a free BBQ which included hot dogs and roasted corn. There were a number of tables set up for friends in the community to grab something to eat, sit down, chat and get to know one another. For the kids there were a number of activities including make your own cotton candy, fish ponds and a slide and bouncy castle. Live music provided by the popular Fiddlestix and there was also an improv theatre routine. About midway through the party, three lucky raffle ticket holders won $75 gift tickets.
