West End Jazz - All time favourites performed by artists with African roots

Description: This event will be truly authentic. - Jazz was originated in the African-American communities in the late 19th century. Since it was influenced by African culture and history, no one has a better understanding of Jazz than artists who lived part of their life in Africa. We will have on stage - June Garber, born in Johannesburg and came to Canada in 1975. She toured in Canada, the US, Cuba, the Caribbean, Mexico and Australia. -Annie Bonsignore was also born in South Africa. She won multiple awards. BBC described her as an “absolutely brilliant singer-songwriter". - Bruce Cassidy - though was born in Fredricton - spent 20 year in Africa as musical director for a major record label. Plays the trumpeter and a special instrument the EVI ( You will see him playing the EVI at this event ) Bruce is also a composer and arranger.
